Keve Clayton, a Wilson, North Carolina native received a Batchelor
of Fine Arts degree in 1982 from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington
where he studied under Claude Howell and Ann Conner. After graduating
he continued his studies at Atlantic Christian College and was fortunate
to study under Wilson artist, Chris Wilson.
In 1995 Keve left his comfortable surroundings, his
partnership with First Wilson Properties Real Estate Firm and followed his
dream as a professional Sport Fishing Captain. In 1998 on board the
fishing boat "Waste Knot" he and his crew won the largest Blue Marlin
Tournament on the east coast, The Big Rock.
After four summers in Atlantic Beach and winters in Palm Beach and Mexico,
he accepted a captains position on board the "Southpaw" where he ended up
in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.
Keve traveled extensively to many ports of call and
it's from these beautiful locations, that he has taken his eye for color
and composition and combined them with his North Carolina roots. He
has produced exciting and colorful oil paintings with strong influences of
shadows and light along with an architectural quality that makes his work
so inviting. With his unique perspectives and points of view, he
gives everyday scenes a colorful and dreamy quality that make you want to
linger and become a part of his work. |
